Believe it or not hypnobirthing is science backed!
When a London consultant attended births he found that births where there was no fear or anxiety usually the mother had shorter and less complicated, medicate and assisted births.
He dedicated is work to finding out more, his name was Mr Grantley Dick-Read.
he found that fear and anxiety caused the blood to flow away from the uterus into the legs and made birthing more difficult.

The Advantages of hypnobirhting
The primary aim of antenatal and hypnobirthing is to empower you to feel calm and comfortable throughout your birth experience.
By reducing fear, anxiety; hypnobirthing allows the body to stay in the relaxed nervous system, keeping you calm and allowing the body to do it's thing, directing blood flow to the uterus where it's needed!
While I can't promise a pain-free birth (though it's certainly achievable—I experienced a pain-free birth with my third child), research clearly shows that maintaining calm and focus during labor can:
* Decrease pain
* Shorten the first and second stages of labor
* Minimize the need for medical interventions
*Support successful breastfeeding
* Enhance mental well-being for parents
* Alleviate anxiety and fears surrounding pregnancy and childbirth (Which?, 2018; Downe, 2015)
* Lead to fewer inductions and cesarean sections
* Reduce reliance on pain relief, including epidurals
* Boost confidence in your body, your baby, and your ability to advocate for yourself
* Increase understanding of the biological process of birth

What are the drawbacks of hypnobirthing?
It does require a commitment of time and financial resources—not only for attending sessions but also for incorporating the techniques into your daily routine. Consistent practice is essential for developing muscle memory for both the birthing individual and their support partner, creating an effective shorthand for relaxation
This is why an in person rather that a cheeper self lead course or book may be a better option.
